I got a new PC with Windows 11. I installed Thunderbird 136.0.1 , activated the private calendar, and entered events there. For events with a reminder that have a specific duration (e.g., Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM), I receive notifications. However, when I create a full-day event and want to be reminded, for example, 1 day before, I don't receive any notification. Additionally, events with a reminder are not shown in bold in the calendar overview (whether they have a specific duration or are all-day events). Can you please help me?

The archived emails have disappeared from my folder, and I can't find the archive location. There is no reference to any archive in All Mail, where Settings is set to store the file. I've looked at all other folders, including Local, but find nothing. Searching for Archive gives nothing.

Hi, Win 10 Pro new installation. Dell Optiplex MBR type Bios.

I had saved a recent profile to an external drive in its own name (i.e. not the profiles folder)

After the new Win 10 installation, I downloaded a new copy of Thunderbird.

I then copied the saved profile into the new Profiles folder, selected it in Choose user profile and started Thunderbird.

Thunderbird opened but not with the saved (8+ Gb) profile, just one new email account and asking for passwords to other email accounts I used before, and no folders.

I went back into the profiles folder and renamed all other profiles "OLDxxx999, but still the same one new email account when I opened Thunderbird.

I desperately need the saved email folders - I don't mind loading all the email accounts again, just need my court case history folders.

How can I force Thunderbird to use the saved profile, or can I identify and individually load in the saved local folders?

Thunderbird n'arrêtait pas de demander le "nouveau mot de passe" et le rejetait constamment. Nous avons d'abord essayer de supprimer, puis ajouter le compte. Cela n'a pas marché. Nous avons désinstallé puis réinstallé Thunderbird. Puis, nous avons tenté d'ajouter le compte (avec protocole IMAP 993 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal et 465 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal). Hello, Thunderbird has interrupted the connection to a friend's Orange email account. The email address and password are correct (they allow access to the account online). Thunderbird kept asking for the ‘new password’ and constantly rejected it. We first tried deleting and then adding the account. That didn't work. We uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird. Then we tried adding the account (with IMAP 993 SSL/TSL normal password and 465 SSL/TSL normal password). That didn't work. We restarted the computer each time. What can or should we do? I'm in the process of migrating from Evolution to Thunderbird, but I seem to have hit a snag. In Evolution, there is an "Archive" folder, which any archived messages go into (attachment 1). This same folder also appears in K9 Mail (my mobile email client), and similarly is treated as special. In that first attachment, you can also see the "Archives" folder created by Thunderbird, which Evolution does not give any special treatment to.

However, in Thunderbird, the "Archive" folder is completely absent, both in the folder listing on the main page and in the "Copies & Folders" settings where an Archive folder would normally be selected (figure 2). Notice that the "Archives" folder is still present, and is now given special treatment, but the "Archive" folder is absent. Checking the contents of the "Archives" folder confirms that it doesn't contain the emails which K9 Mail and Evolution have been archiving.

Is there a way to access those archived emails from Thunderbird?

All my Thunderbird Accounts do not receive any emails. What should I check to resume receiving emails? I did a quick test email on my gmauk account which I can only receive on a separate email service, but NOT on Thunderbird. Also, I tested my SMTP capabilities as I SENT an email to my gmail account, which was received. Please advise

Not receiving emails addressed to multiple recipients. Senders are in address book but the emails are not downloaded. Download message says "Downloading 1 of 12" but no messages downloaded. I cured this a couple of days ago by going into my webmail account and deleting a group email that seemed to be blocking my account. I tried that today with another group email but without result. This is a major problem.

Hello -I am having problems opening files in thunderbird -I keep getting '"This file does not have an app associated with it for performing his action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page." I have uninstalled and reinstalled t/b several times but nothing works -any solutions please. I cannot even open 'help' on my desktop - I am using another computer to write this

I have used Thunderbird on my laptop for years and have never had this problem before. until last week. Thunderbird will advise that there are, say, 6 emails to download but it wont down load them. I can access them from my Android tablet and see them on my email server). An initial check online suggested there might be a space problem on my laptop. There was, and I cleaned up the contents of my laptop. Problem disappeared. Today the problem reappeared. Thinking there could still be a space problem, I cleaned out my considerable archive in Thunderbird. Restarted Thunderbird - no luck. There were a dozen or so emails on the server, and I could read them on my Android tablet. I rebooted the laptop. A message that it was downloading new emails, but nothing downloaded although they were still on the server. I uninstalled Thunderbird and downloaded the latest version. I could email from the laptop to the Android and reverse but nothing else. I deleted all my emails on the server. Any suggestions about how I should proceed? Regards Alan Brooks

All of the emails in my Archive folder and its sub-folders came up empty today 7/5/25, but were present yesterday 7/4/25. I have tried to locate hidden folders to restore them, but to no avail. The computer has not been rebooted. The content of all the other folders and accounts are as they should be.

I'm trying to add my secondary email account to thunderbird but I couldn't make it work. I've been using thunderbird for at least 15 years and this is first time I'm seeing anything like that. I think Account Hub is a new feature, I had to reinstall my PC and fresh Thunderbird installation came with it.

The account hub asks for my name and email address. I enter both and as soon as I click continue it says my username or password is incorrect. I don't get any prompt for password. It hangs and gets stuck here.

As an alternative I tried entering a made up email address (something like asd@ba.da) and then it gets into manual settings. I thought I could get it sorted that way but I was wrong. After I fill the form and click continue I get the blank error message. if I click advanced setup it gives me an error about cleanup property. I also get an error message sayign incoming server already exists, that's probably because I have another email account on the same server, but I'm not sure why this is an issue now. Can't I have multiple email accounts on the same mail server?

Probably this has something to with my mail server's autoconfig setup. However I believe user should be able to manually enter account config, incoming/outgoing server etc. At the moment I'm totally blocked and I can't add my second email account to thunderbird.

The Local Folders Account has a setting to set the Message Store Type. By default it's set to "File per folder (mbox)". How can I switch to Maildir?

Note that in global Settings, I have already set up the Message Store Type for New accounts to "File per message (maildir)". But I can't create a new local folder account.

Since the last update, downloaded on 4 July 2025 to my computer, thunderbird will not download any new emails from my server.

I have 7 RSS Feeds installed and working.

The problem is that 5 of them only update when I right click and update manually but the first 2 update normally when I select "Get Messages".

I've checked each feed and they all seem correct in Properties.

Anyone out there have a suggestion or solution?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using MacOS 10.13, Thunderbird 115.15.16ESR: my Hotmail worked until 15 May 2025 and then it would not download new emails. Screenshots are available if you want me to post them. I got an error message: "authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com". I updated Thunderbird to the latest for my OS: 115.18.0ESR. Still no new emails. I deleted my email account on Thunderbird and tried to reinstate it. Now I get an error message when trying to set up the account: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." I tested my password by logging into my Microsoft account with it on my browser. I can also login to my email using Firefox, but I want my Thunderbird email client to work again.

The configuration I am using is: I use my normal hotmail password in the password field. I also set up a new App Password with Microsoft and tried that without success. With the 115.18 update there is a new field: Your login. I just put my hotmail email address in here. incoming: outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, Oauth2 
outgoing: smtp.office365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2 (I have also tried: smtp-mail.outlook.com)

I enabled 2-step authentication with Microsoft in my Microsoft account more than a year ago. Interestingly, I don't get a prompt on my iPhone Microsoft Authentication App when I select Done when trying to set up the hotmail account on Thunderbird.

Please help. I am desperate, and I have wasted a lot of time on this without success. Cheers

I sometimes look into a sub-folder under email inbox account (imap) in thunderbird and can see it is just updating. Is there a specific setting where I can keep all folders and sub-folders constantly updated?

Get Google to stop blocking my Thunderbird Account. So many times this happens and I spend hours trying to get emails. At present I am blocked and I need to work on projects. So angry that Google keeps doing this.

I am new to Thunderbird and needed help to import my contacts from Outlook. It wasn't easy; I had to reorganize the CSV file to match Thunderbird's format - what a pain. Then I needed to recreate all of my group addresses using Thunderbird's tools. I used some of these newly created group addresses a few weeks ago. Now all of the group addresses exist, but they have no members. What could have happened? And, what should I do to recover their contacts?
