We have a question about bookmarks sync, with specific characteristics, please.

We purchased another computer, a laptop, and wish to benefit from the bookmarks sync between them. However, we're affraid of a backward syncing situation. How can we make sure we prevent that?

For example, say we worked on the desktop for a week, and then need to use the laptop. What should we do when we turn the laptop on and open ff browser, if we wish to sync from the desktop to the laptop? Do we press the Sync button on the laptop? - or will that force a backward synching from the laptop to the desktop? If that's the case, than how do we sync reliabely? And let's say the day after, from the now-updated-laptop to the desktop? Is the safest way to do it by turning the sync option off, and copying the bookmarkbackup folder from one updated computer to the other?

Also, this may complicate things a bit - We use the browser bookmarks in a non traditional way. It's kind of an archive for us. The .jsonlz4 file size in bookmarkbackups folder is 37MB. We remember reading somewhere before, the server backups stores files up to 10MB. So, question is, does the large size or the bookmarks file will affect the synching process between computers?

hello Ive been dealing with this constant battle of Firefox working for about a week and then just completely stops randomly. This problem never occurred when i was on windows 10 but ever since i installed windows 11 this has started to happen. If i turn on my desktop and Firefox doesn't work i have to either refresh Firefox through the uninstaller or boot into safe mode and then boot into regular and it will work for a couple days and then stop again its a full on cycle and in tired of dealing with this mess just to keep using your guys browser. I don't want to leave Firefox but it doesn't really leave me a choice unless you guys can help me solve this problem.

Hello, I periodically check to see if there is a way to stop dynamic tab resizing without having to edit the registry. I have tried several methods involving tab size in settings and nothing has worked to stop the dynamic resizing. Any new ideas out there?

I just saw that there isn't 'list tabs' (V) in the vertical layout. Did you have any idea of how to rectify this small oversight ? Thank for this browser. <3

why everytime i open i new tab it appears in my shortcuts section i only pinned like two sites and evry time i open a new page it appears in the shortcuts and theres no setting that i can turn off

In the Security Measures overview, under Manage Passwords, I see the following: 3 passwords may have been exposed through data breaches.

All 3 websites with data breaches belong to Facebook.

I permanently deleted all Facebook accounts more than 3 years ago.

Without Facebook accounts, I can't and don't need to change my passwords, right?

My credit card payment methods are missing from Firefox's settings. I tried enabling every relevant setting in about:config and still they won't appear. My current relevant settings are shown in the attached screenshot. any suggestions?

I have a password manager. It used to be when I would log into a website that the Password Manager would provide the information. Which was fine with me. Now it has stopped doing that and I do not know why.

Desktop Computer. Still on Windows 10.

Not sure of category. This began when I launched the computer today. I opened Firefox and got the message "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because ....."

When I started to shut down the computer (first mentioned step here) I saw there's a Window update. I selected Update and Restart. That went okay, but still don't have my Firefox bookmarks.

So I clicked on Learn more. I found the Firefox > Profiles folder. There are two folders, one from today - qkuxm6ws.default-release - 15...... 0196 with 94 items, and 7ghfiw 15.default, from Jan 5, 2021, with 3 items. I assume I should use the one with today's date.

BUT .... from this point, the information on this website was full of information - NOT step-by-step information telling me what to do with which files in this folder.

Also, I have McAfee as well as Windows Defender. I opened Windows Defender Firewall. State is On. Notification state: Notify me when Windows Defender Firewall blocks a new app. I've gotten no such messages.

Under allowed apps and features:

 "Firefox ... private not checked; public checked.."  
 "Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" - private is checked, public not checked.  

Can't make changes.

Under Overview window: Not checked is "Inbound connections that do not match a rule are blocked."

• • • • In the "Monitoring\Firewall folder" - Firefox (with path) is listed twice. Both entries have Private, Allow, NO Override -
      • Differences - the first has UDP; the second has TCP. Nothing under "Group."

My last bookmarks backup was Jan 2025. 😕 😟

I have a new laptop and am using Firefox as my browser. But when I'm on Facebook, go to chats it says that video chat isn't supported by this browser. Does Firefox not allow this? I've tried going to permissions to allow Facebook to access my camera and microphone, but unable to do so. How do I use the video chat feature in Facebook chats?
