I had to have my computer cleaned out and start over. When I installed firefox I mistakenly used a different email address as the username. I've uninstalled firefox twice and re-installed in an attempt to login with the correct email address. It keeps re-installing and showing up with the wrong email. I'm trying to get to the correct login so that I can re-create the toolbar with all my bookmarks by using Sync. I'm not tech savvy, so any answer needs to be simple, straightforward and step by step. Thanks

The point of what I wrote above is to cleanup some files in the Firefox profile folder that store some Sync related data. This will only work when Firefox is closed. So you first need to use the button on the on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the Firefox profile folder. Then you need to close Firefox. When Firefox has been closed then you can remove the above mentioned file(s) and folder(s).

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the Weave folder (Sync was formerly named Weave) with Firefox closed. Remove an existing chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in the Firefox Password Manager.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks very much for your reply. Being very non-techy, could I ask, do I re-install Firefox with the erroneous email I mentioned, and then proceed with the recommended solution? And, if so, how do I get into Firefox with it closed?
