This article describes how to restore Firefox's default toolbar configuration if the Back button, Forward button, Location bar, or other toolbar items are missing.

= Showing the Navigation Toolbar =
You may have the Navigation Toolbar hidden. Click the Firefox {menu View} menu, select the {menu Toolbars} sub-menu. If there is not a check mark next to {menu Navigation Toolbar}, click on it to put a check mark by it.

= Restore the default toolbar set =
To put the toolbar buttons back into their default places:
# Click the Firefox {menu View} menu, and then select the {menu Toolbars} sub-menu, then click the {menu Customize...} item to open the Customize Toolbar window.

An extension or theme may be preventing toolbar items from being displayed. To determine if this is the cause, see [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
