I have tried for two days to recover my passwords and logins to no avail. I read all of the articles and trouble shooting, Switched profiles, and looked for common problems. Talk of key3.db migration in version 67 but nothing newer. I am sure I have overlooked something but need some guidance and maybe a better step-by-step process.

Current Firefox releases use key4.db for the key file and no longer can fallback to key3.db. The logins are stored in logins.json and Firefox creates logins-backup.json as a backup to undo the most recent change.

Do you still have a login.json file that shows login records if you open the file in a Firefox tab ?

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
