My Firefox for Android updated yesterday.

When I click in address bar, I get some kind of not-exactly-helpful 'search with' screen. How do I make it open the home screen(or something actually useful - showing websites and not only search engines), which is shown when you open a new tab?

& is there a way to customize how Firefox looks? I very much did prefer the old design with a new tab button showing pretty much where tab icon was when clicked. New design has new tab button at the other end (!) of the screen. Not exactly comfortable.

Hi

Thank you for your questions and feedback.

You can customise Firefox for Android using the options in the Customise menu from Settings in the Firefox for Android menu.

If when you next search form the address bar you tap the Search engine icon in the centre of the screen, those search options you are seeing will not appear.

I hope this helps.

I want it to show bookmarks. Not to let me choose from x search engines - I have zero use for that. I did use frequently used websites when I clicked into the address bar on previous version of the browser...

This new 'feature' literally made me close tabs after 1 use, instead of reusing them to go to a different website - because doing it this way is less uncomfortable (you really can not talk about user comfort with this 'feature').

Okay, I think I can help with that.

If you select Search in the Settings menu you can select to show bookmarks and browsing history in your websearches.

I hope this helps.

That is not exactly what I want, I'd like bookmarks/frequently used pages/something useful show in place of the red X on provided image.

Having to enter text into search field to have those options show up is much slower compared to having the most useful ones immediately at hand.

Thanks for trying to help

Agreed, I want the same feature back as well.
