Our IT specialist at UW-Madison is stumped and suggested I reach out to Firefox. He was helping me troubleshoot why Firefox keeps saying it's sending a code to verify my account, but I never receive the code. He has added the "accounts" email to my contacts and I don't know what else to do or try. Any ideas from the community? I need my bookmarks after upgrading to Windows 11 and can't imagine trying to recreate them all.

That isn't something Firefox user can help here with. Whomever setup the Firefox account with that email isn't something Firefox can change or resolve. It only sends to the Primary Firefox account login email no one else will get it nor will it be forwarded. What this would mean is the registered login email isn't the same one your thinking it is that could be why it's not getting it. Also you need to check your Spam or junk inbox to verify it came through if it go sent there. Otherwise that login email is lost to the internet and no one here is going to be able to do much about it.

The email account that is registered with Firefox is my university email account and it was my university's tech person who has sifted through all of the advice on the firefox support pages and he recommended that I ask Firefox for further assistance. The email has not been verified which is why I believe I am not getting the code. Seems like a bit of a catch 22. I've been using Firefox for over 5 years now and I didn't know that my account was not verified until my computer got upgraded to Windows 11. Now 5 years of bookmarks are not accessible and I can't just get another university email account.

This seems more like a wrong registered email with the Firefox account. So question is which email Firefox account are you using to do the posting there? And also your computer regardless should still have access to the bookmarks since those are saved to the computer as being it seems like there is no sync account setup being mentioned here. Also of stuff here just be reading don't added up as Bookmarks are saved to the computer they are created on regardless of having sync or no sync setups.

At present, I can only use my personal email account to post and therefore, I am using that to troubleshoot. My work email is not verified and will not send a code to my work email. I'm struggling to get my work account verified and access my bookmarks there. Our IT specialist at the university has done all of the "tricks" posted here trying to help with the Firefox associated with my work email. My emails are the same but one ends in .edu and the other is gmail.

It seems like your trying to sync .edu to gmail and I doubt that might not work. It has to be the same registered Firefox email login to sync between devices. You can't sync different email accounts as that will delete or remove one or the other data when it sync or sometimes combines the two messing up bookmarks. But it sounds like your trying to sync two different email and I doubt that works or deletes the other bookmark when it sync. Has the IT done this trick as your referring to get the bookmarks.

I'm not trying to sync my bookmarks, I'm trying to get into my Firefox account using my wisc.edu email. It refuses to verify or send a code to my account so I can access it.

Like I said there is something going on and it's not from Firefox-if the email and address is correct no mistake or misspelling this would mean it's on the .edu site that is blocking or removing all email from Firefox reset email. And the info I posted links don't require sync if one would look at the links first as well.

Dropa, sorry I didn't address the second part of your message with the links but I did open those links and look at the process for exporting and importing bookmarks but I cannot open my edu Firefox account. There are no bookmarks in the Firefox account associated with my gmail. If I'm missing something or don't follow, I apologize. I'm not an IT professional and am doing the best I can after hearing that our IT department doesn't know why I am unable to get into my edu Firefox account. There are no Firewalls or spam/junk mail blockers, I've added the accounts@firefox email as a contact, etc. I don't know what else to do.

At this point from what I can understand this email wasn't the email .edu that is associated with the Firefox account. That would be the only reason why access can't be granted to the .edu Firefox account. But remember Firefox bookmarks are saved to the computer not to the Firefox account so is there a reason why you can't go to the .edu computer that has the Firefox with the bookmark to backup the link directly here.
