Setting up a new LG laptop. Downloaded Flash and Shockwave Flash but they don't appear in my add-ons. Looked on the add-on pages but cannot find any that activate either. I have it on another laptop and it works fine (Shockwave Flash 32.0.r0). Even searched for that exact add-on but it returns no such program. The icon for Flash (on the URL line) doesn't appear on any page. Obviously, I can't play on-line games or watch any content unless Flash is available. FireFox is updated to the latest version as is Win10. Using WebRoot and Malwarebytes. Any ideas as to why this is?

Had a heck of a time installing Flash. It was on the control panel but didn't appear to be actually available. Deleted it and all the downloads already there and used your link again. 5 tries later it still claimed a connection error was preventing installation. Opened the troubleshooter which popped up and finally, as the page suggested, installed just the installer. Now Flash is installed and set to Always Ask. Life is good. Thank you for the invaluable assistance. Now I can waste my life playing Pinguy and Mahjong 3d.  :)

Sorry, meant to say Plug Ins rather than add-ons, but I'm basically a mid-level type user so forgive any confusion.

"Plugin" is an add-on ...

"Add-on" is the collective name for Extensions, Plugins, Themes and Dictionaries.

Did you download Adobe Flash Player from here (?) :

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

When you go to Windows Control Panel; do you see "Flash" listed there ?

I've been trying to get flash to play on firefox for days and the whiz kids who run it have been zero help, even negative in a sense that anything they advise (in writing only, they will not lower themselves to communicate directly) is likely to not work either. They really seem to think this is a nanny state we live in and THEY will tell us what we can run on OUR computers. Fastest way to resolve it? Go to IE. It works quickly and perfectly.
