When I update my FF I was given info to create an account?? For what it didn't say. Now I see it is for syncing. I don't need /want it. How do get out this?
As I tried to say in my question, I updated my FF and was immediately forced into setting up an account page? I didn't see the purpose be decided it must be something new I should do? (OK, my bad!) After doing through the agony of creating yet another account/password for something? I see, after the fact, that it has to do with syncing something? Some phase of FF.
I don't need or want such. How do I back out of this so I am not connected with some related account action or unknown in the future? Thank you.

"Ignore" WHAT "message", edmeister? Why is there no cautionary info? When you're in the process of a usually painless update with limited time, and it says you gotta start an account --with no apparent escape avenue, no if's -- your arm is twisted to finish the whole account ambush process. SHOW US A WAY OUT. Or WARN clearly in advance, before we are STUCK. Now my laptop's Firefox has lost all the bookmarks it once had, plus I get a lot of promotional FFx emails! I am not happy.
You also need a Firefox Account (linked to an email address) to register at this SUMO forum (this is a recent change).
You can use this Firefox account for various Mozilla services.

Would't need to post, had I not been lured into the Sync trap. Now I'm reluctant to update my main PC to v.68 since that wiped the bookmarks out of my laptop. Dunno what the next tripup will be, and hate getting 3000 hits to a Search query.
