As title says. Noticed this on twitch and youtube. Sometimes even a 9 minute video goes out of sync. Frames fall behind audio. Usually, if I put the tab in background it happens pretty quick, a few minutes.

Just reproduced this on Chrome as well, so it's not FF problem. Nevertheless, maybe someone has some ideas what could be the issue. Went through this topic but nothing seems to work.

Yes does seem to be other issues then. Where are you actually getting your sound from. The sound chip/card with the Software that cam with it, possibly Realtec or by the Video Card Drivers.

Suggest update or reinstall the sound drivers that came with the system.

Please : Try Firefox Safe Mode to TEST & see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

Sounds that your computer isn't fast enough to keep up with decoding the video data and gets out of sync.

Make sure that your security software isn't interfering.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Twitch doesn't even play properly in safe mode. Video freezes/buffers each 3 seconds.

I have realtec sound drivers, but the issue persist with or without them.

My PC is definitely fast enough for this and more and security software is not the issue.

Let's just close this. Thanks.
