Why does my computer flatten out images and pages after update? It is something to do with the display drivers, but I can't figure out what!
From time to time, when I go to my screen, all of the images and icons are broad and flat - looks like it has been stretched into an overlong rectangle.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Performance
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use recommended performance settings"
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use hardware acceleration when available" - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
Close and restart Firefox after modifying the setting to make the change effective.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
You may have accidentally zoomed web page(s). Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
- View -> Zoom -> Reset (Ctrl+0/Command+0 (zero))

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
