Why I can’t type anything on the browser.
Today I downloaded Mozilla browser on my computer at work but I can type anything on it. I need to type on a sheet of Microsof Word and then do copy and paste otherwise I cannot use Mozilla. What can I do to resolve this problem? Thank you Valentina

Hi alentinav.
You cannot type in the browser itself (e.g. into the address bar) or, in Microsoft Word documents opened or downloaded using Firefox?

Does the problem persist in the safe mode too? If it's a new installation, where have you downloaded from?
Does the problem persist in the safe mode too? YES, it persists. If it's a new installation, where have you downloaded from? I downloaded from the mozilla website.
That's kind of weird, if new Firefox installation in not functional and has not responsive UI. The list thing I can think of is to Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
Yes, I thinkm it's really weird too. I tried to refresh as you suggested me but it's impossible, the problem persist. I also tried to reinstall it but still the problem is there: i cannot type anything in the browser. If you have any other idea I will apreciate otherwise I will need to change browser. Thank you anyway Valentina
hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
If the issue is consistent as described, this could suggest external interference. Do you have anything running that would use overlays? Antivirus? Have you scanned for malware with extra scanners (a suggested list can be found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware)? AV and malware are the first things that come to mind when we're talking about input hijacking.
It may also be a simple case of switched keyboard layouts, as in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/952115.
I do recall a situation where I couldn't access the address bar, but the issue was isolated to the address bar (pressing F6 to select the address bar worked until I got the issue resolved; I think it was an add-on or theme issue). It did not prevent typing in Google searches, for example.
