Forefox update / content decryption module issues
So about a month ago I received a FF update on my home theater PC and along with it came the CDM. Prior to this we were using the silverlight plugin (with no issues).
After this update, when we are watching a series on Netflix and the end of the episode is reached, the HDMI signal is dropped for 10-20 seconds while it attempts to load the next episode.
If the signal does return (sometimes it doesn't), the next episode has already been playing for some time and and sometimes without sound. Restarting FF will resolve the audio issue.
I have tried disabling the CDM to go back to silverlight, but it does not appear to be an option.
This is a Win 7-64 system. The HDMI out runs through a SONY STR-DH520 and to the Sanyo HD TV.
Prior to this update, everything worked as expected.

hello sp_nyp, you appear to be using an outdated version of firefox. please update to the latest version and see if this is already making a difference...

I just checked and the about --> help says FF is up to date with version 43.0.4.
I have it set to auto update, which is something I don't normally do - starting to regret that decision :-(

You can see the details in the System Detail list next to your question. That data include the user agent that shows a Firefox 31 version on Windows 7.

The information that the support forum gathered, in my original post, in regard to FF is NOT from the same PC I am experiencing the issue on.
The PC with the issue is running FF 43.0.4, which according to the mozilla site and the browser itself... is the current version.
I can run the corrupt agent steps if you think it will help.
If I had to guess, I would say the problem is with the "sandbox" FF uses or the decryption module itself.
Is it possible to download an older version of FF and install it?
I am going to take the sony receiver out of the chain and see what happens as well.
So I just ran a test with the SONY receiver not in the chain.
I am able to go from one episode to the next "cleanly" ... however, there is definitely something weird going on.
The PC cursor icon gets the "blue processing circle". While this is going on, it must stop sending some signal that tells the SONY the session is over and it closes the port... or puts it into a "quasi sleep mode".
I just ran a test with IE 11 (ugh) and it works fine. Until FF resolves this issue I will have to use IE for Netflix.
I will also test again without the SONY int the loop so I can watch the processes that run when Netflix runs the decryption algorithm.

It is definitely part of that whole package... which piece I can't be certain.
I guess I wouldn't have noticed without the sony in the mix. I can't be the only one with this type of setup... I can't believe I have not been able to find anything online about it.
