how can I retreve bookmarks after uninstalling firefox
My husband uninstalled firefox due to it crashing. In the process it looks like all my years and years worth of bookmarks have gone. He installed the latest version of firefox which is working fine. But I cant find/import any old bookmarks. I didn't back them up, but from what I have read firefox does back them up automatically. Please help me. I will be lost without them. I have done a system restore but it didn't help. Many thanks Sonja

Merely uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox shouldn't have affected your bookmarks, unless the option for "Remove Firefox data and customizations." was used. If so, all your Firefox personal data was erased, and you will need to use a file recovery utility program like Recuva to recover your bookmarks.

You will need a file named places.sqlite or a JSON bookmarks backup file.

Thank you very very much. He had deleted all data! I had not heard of that software before. So I downloaded the free version, ran it, searched for bookmark and the JSON file appeared. I recovered it and restored it very very simply. I really can not thank you enough for providing this very useful information. You have made my day :)
