Are you trying to sync using Firefox Sync through the cloud, or are you copying over your profile folder from your laptop (thus creating a perfect clone of your settings, bookmarks, history, add-ons, etc.)?

(I'm hinting there a little bit...)

To copy your profile folder on your laptop, see this article: Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder to a USB flash drive or similar movable storage).

Next, create a new (blank) profile on your main PC: Managing profiles.

Use Help > Troubleshooting information to open that new profile folder. Then exit Firefox. Replace everything in that new profile folder with the contents of your laptop profile folder, and then restart Firefox.
