How do I add a bookmark to an existing folder, for example "travel"

I have not been using Firefox for very long and find it generally excellent except for the system of bookmarking which seems very complicated. What I want to do is to click on Bookmarks and get a drop down list of folders which I have previously created, and a request as to which one I wish to store the website in. Then click on the relevant folder, job done. I previously used Opera,but since the purchase of a new PC using W7 I have not been able to find the version that I was using and have lost all my bookmarks hence my change of browser.

Right-click on a bookmark that is in the folder where you want a new folder placed, and select New Folder...
