Navigating by search in an open tab just reloads the old URL

By my estimate, this happens about 25-30% of the time. If I am in a tab that already has a webpage loaded and attempt to navigate away by searching in the navigation bar (my search engine is set to Google), submitting the search simply reloads the page I was already on and discards my search text. This has happened on multiple devices (all Samsung) for me for years, and I simply put up with it because I don't want to use Chrome. I switched from Beta to release to attempt to stop this, but the bug persists.

Current version info is below:

116.3.0 (Build #2015968451), ba51cc4285+ GV: 116.0.3-20230815173142 AS: 116.0

Android 13 on Samsung S21 Ultra, Kernel Version 5.4.210
