I'm hoping you can assist me with the following issue. Unable to access NCAA Football or CBS Sports websites even when the website is bookmarked and/or listed as an exception in my Firefox settings (CBS Sports). Please explain why the exception list and bookmarking websites no longer allows me to access these sites. This is a recent issue.

This issue has become a nuisance and unfortunately as much as I trust Firefox (I actually donate monthly) I may have to start using a different web browser such as Microsoft Edge if this issue cannot be resolved.

Thank you in advance for you help.

Sincerely, Mary

Hi Mary, that PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR code seems to have multiple potential causes, but I don't think it's due to a setting.

If you haven't already, could you try:

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache (only select Cached web content, don't clear all cookies and site data)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

Does that resolve the issue? If not...

(2) Remove the site's cookies. On the Settings page, just below the Clear Data button you just used, there iis a Manage Data button which will let you remove CBS Sports cookies and local storage data without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help? If not...

(3) Although most people are not intentionally using a proxy server, Firefox may discover one set up in your system settings. Sometimes forcing Firefox to ignore those settings helps with weird connection issues. Here's how:

Back on the Settings page, find the very tiny search box at the top of the page, and type proxy -- Firefox should filter to the "Network Settings" section of the page.

Click the Settings button, change the top setting to "No Proxy" and then click the OK button at the bottom of the dialog to save your change.

Any difference?
