Firefox Unique Identifier

Mozilla clearly lost it with their unique identifier, anyways i got a question on this topic.

If i download Firefox here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release there will be a unique identifier, but if download it here https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ There won't be such an identifier.

So, which is the better option since i know little about mozilla.org not sure if it's secure. Also when i download from the first link, what will the unique identifier track exactly since i open my browser and paste the URL for download, i don't come to the downloadsite from any other site or search result, i directly go there, so what will happen with the identification in that case? I know i had a similar thread before, but question is still open.

Hi

To help us to improve the experience for new users, we use a download token (a unique identifier), that is associated when downloading Firefox. This allows us to capture that a download has happened, which in turn helps us understand how many installs come through third-party sites and what those sites are. We disclose our "Campaign and Referral Data" in the Firefox Privacy Notice under "Measure and support our marketing". This information enables us to determine the website domain or advertising campaign (if any) that referred you to our download page.

We do not keep the download token with any personally identifying information, and we store the download token in a database that is separate from other telemetry information under a strict access policy.

If you are interested in removing your association with the download token you can opt out of Firefox telemetry once you have installed the browser. We delete all of the historical telemetry data that we have collected for your Firefox profile, including all records containing the download token. This makes it impossible for us to associate the web site visit with that profile, even for activity that took place before the opt out was specified. Alternatively, if you want to prevent a download token association from ever happening in the first place, you can download Firefox from our archive site.
