Primary Password Box possible problem
Hi- when I open TB, I get the enter password box. I found out today that if I leave blank & then hit cancel or the red X, Thunderbird still opens. How can I change that unless I enter the correct password? The password box opens after that to ask for my pop.gmail.com password, which is fine. I can see that entering that password retrieves new, unread messages & permits me to compose & send new mail, etc....

Hi The Primary password protects your saved passwords, and prevents access to the online account. It does not prevent the program from opening. This earlier question has an explanation (note it was previously called a master password, now primary password) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1349482 Hope this helps.
