Firefox always opens google searches in new tabs rather than the old ones.

Exactly what it says on the tin. For the record, I've followed the instructions listed here and set my google search to not open up new searches in new windows ("tabs)" but the problem continues. I think it's a firefox one but I can't find the about:config setting to fix this if it even is that.
