Before I updated my system (Mac), Firefox used to type -- for 9s and a few other keys would type incorrectly. The update fixed that, or so I thought. I just copied some text and pasted it into a site I'm using in Firefox and the x came in as ". I can't get it to type x. Although, I can here for some reason. So confused.

Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

It appears to be happening in a particular website: Blackboard online learning platform. It wasn't happening when I typed elsewhere - or here: xxxxxxx. e

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any settings.

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the builtin Inspector with this element selected.

You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Font tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.
