Yesterday I upgraded from 55.something to 66.0.05. This morning 55.xx loaded again. I have just re-installed 66. How can I avoid doing this every morning?

It's possible the old v55 program was not removed.

Thanks, will check, but...I'll bet my Firefox shortcut still points to the old version!
Yes, that was it -- thanks again. New version in Program Files, old in Program Files (x86) - is this because old was 32-bit and new 64-bit?
That could be why the old program was not removed. Have you removed it yet?
No, it's still there, and for this reason: I have upgradeophobia, because "improvements" all tend to degrade performance*. So far v.66 seems to be going along OK, but I want to keep the legacy version just in case, at least for a while. In any event, now that I know what's happening thanks to FredMcD, I can deal with it if v.55 comes back from the tomb unexpectedly.
- I still use Eudora 6, and I still regret having dumped, or lost,
Eudora 2 -- so you see what the situation is around here....I only upgraded Netscape, oops, Firefox, when half-a-dozen web sites refused to work with v.55.
I understand that. I am still using v54. I refuse to give up my add-ons.
LOL - viva la Vieja Guarda!
