Oddity when I increase menu font size in FF menus

I'm speaking of the FF menu(s) text, not the web page text. I increased the font size by using the about:config/layout.css.devPixelsPerPx adjustment. All is good except for one thing... if I take the font size up beyond 1.0, scrolling thru a menu leaves dark underlines between some of the links in the menu. Very annoying.

The underlines you see in the screenshot I provided are not 'separators' I inserted, they are odd underlines that appear and disappear as I scroll thru the menus. Any way to avoid that?
