This is on the wife's brand new computer. She had Win7 installed since that's what she/we are familiar with. She's been installing her software. After downloading and installing FF it won't launch. We get a small box that says "The instruction at 0x3xxxxxxx (changes each time we try) referenced memory at 0x0000000. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program." Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls have not fixed the issue. She has called the shop she bought the computer from and did the reloads at their request. I'm trying to help but I'm not real tech savvy & she's less so than I am. I'm using my computer to write this plea for help. Is there something I can do to fix this?

I did a search and found a number of people with similar issues but not with a brand new computer. The "fixes" there were something I'm not comfortable with. People were speaking greek plus they didn't work most times from reading the complaints.

The RAM in the computer might be faulty, have it replaced at the shop.

OK, what I've done so far. I did what I understand to be a clean reinstall. I uninstalled FF using control panel. I then used Windows Explorer to delete the FF folder in the Mozilla group. I reinstalled V57 and the same issue happened. I did another clean reinstall but installed the previous 64 bit version (56.0.2) and had the same issue. I removed everything again and installed the 32 bit version of 56.0.2 and all is well. I changed the settings to NOT update without approval. Is the new computer still the suspect?

FWIW I HATE V57.
