When I start my pc Firefox automatically opens, then opens again & again.... and I am unable to stop this from occuring unless I delete firefox from my pc.
Pc is panasonic cf-30 toughbook with windows xp and the latest version of firefox. When my pc boots up Firefox automatically opens within 5 minutes. Then every few minutes another copy opens up and on and on and on. This started a few months ago. I have Avast anti-virus and I have run scan after scan for any infection and have found nothing. I would ;like to use firefox even with the annoying disabling of my add-ons. If I cant solve this I plan on deleting firefox and trying out chrome as my browser. Thank you for any help you can provide.

You could uninstall and change to the Extended Release Version which will better support XP and your plug-ins. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
