Web pages will automatically redirect to links within the original page
When I open a page in an academic website that has a link to a video on TED Talks it will automatically send me to that website and I can't access the other things on the original page. What can I do to fix this?

From now on, right-click and select Open In New Tab.
....... or :
Press the Ctrl key and then click on the link. It will open in a new tab.
Note that you can middle-click a link with the mouse scroll wheel
After reading some of the responses I'm seeing now that maybe I wasn't too clear on my problem. The issue is that I can click on the link to access an assignment on the academic website but once the page to the assignment loads it will automatically redirect me to one of the videos linked in the assignment and I can't see what I need to do on the assignment. Even if I click the back button it will take me to the menu for me to select which assignment to work on not the assignment itself. I need a solution which will allow me to go into the assignment without being redirected to a video or article linked within the assignment.
Hmm, try this out;
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/redirect-control/ Redirect Control This add-on enables the user to allow or deny redirects from web pages. You can also create rules to allow redirects that you approve of.
It worked on my email but the academic website keeps automatically redirecting me. I even tired closing the page and reopening it again and it didn't work.
