These are all web pages I visit regularly and usually they load quickly. Just now I tried to start a new post on my blog and it was being slow, so I opened a new tab to play a game while waiting for Blogger to get its act together. Same thing happens here. The little loading Icon starts spinning, but nothing happens. Tried a couple more tabs and a couple more games with the same result. Finally tried YouTube and it popped up instantly. Went back to the first game tab, clicked x to stop loading, and then selected the same game again. This time it popped up right away.

Problem still shows up intermittently. I'll keep my eye open, maybe I will stumble over the trigger.

You can try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).

You can also inspect the timings in the Network Monitor.

Is there a player or lots of pictures on the page? Can you post a public link to it?

I think something must have gotten confused because I haven't seen the problem in the last couple of days. I will make a note if it happens again.

Today http://www.rpgfirearms.com.au/THE%20SHOOTISTS.htm is being a jerk. It loads, then stops, then starts loading again, over and over again. I disabled all the extentions (addons?) didn't seem to have any effect.

That page loaded okay for me, but it has a lot of big pictures. They take time to load.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains. You can tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions".

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • select the first image and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list
  • if an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain

Check permissions.default.image on the about:config page to make sure it is default (1).

There is Tracking Protection that can block content, so check the location/address bar for special icons.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure such extensions do not block content. There is security software that can interfere with loading content, so check that as well.
