Where is the layout.frames.force_resizability that used to be in the about:config page?

Some "rogue" websites use a terrible frame layout, particularly for my setup. In the past the force resizability option in the about:config page helped me overcome this issue. But this option seems to have been removed in later versions of firefox.

How else can I access this feature in more recent versions of firefox?

HI g00ey, You may be able to add it back by creating a new about:config entry with the same name. However an entry is removed when the functionality is no longer present.

I still see this pref in the current Firefox 36.0.1 release on the about:config page, so I'm not sure why it is missing in your case.

Are you sure that frames are used if it isn't working on the page?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
