I went to my account to change my password, then got an error message saying that I was unable to connect to the yahoo server. I uninstall and reinstalled YAHOO, but ended up with the same issue

Try to clear the Yahoo cookies.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If you have stored the password for Yahoo in the Firefox Password Manager then try to remove it.

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"

Note that the Yahoo login page uses autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving form data like name and password.

You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox store form data like names and passwords.

Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used, so you need to double-click the empty name field to get a drop-down list.

What password did you change? Yahoo? Internet server? Modem?

Fred, I had changed my yahoo password and for some reason I was unable to reach the yahoo server. As of now, it seems to have healed itself---I just don't understand why it took that route. Very strange. Thanks for your reply to my initial question
