I've searched high and low for the answer to this, tried updating my mouse drivers, installed Tab Mix Plus, some greasemonkey scripts, and STILL can't get my mouse wheel to open new links with a click. Any help would be great

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I should have added to my original post: I tried starting in Safe mode and it didn't solve the problem and I'm already only using the default theme. Problem persists.
