Downloaded firefox4 but cant access as it keeps saying restart everytime why?

I downloaded firefox 4 because it kept saying that firefox couldnt be updated. Now I have updated it its asking me to restart. I restart then when I try to access firefox it says I cannot until i restart. I have tried to uninstall and it still says I have to restart. I have restarted at least 10 times but still the same problem. HELP!

  1. Quit Firefox (File->Quit)
  2. Check that it's not running in task manager (ctrl+alt+del, processes tab)
  3. Run Firefox again
