why can't I sort the VERY FIRST DROP DOWN when I click on bookmarks?

when I FIRST click on bookmarks there is a drop down list...that's the one I want to sort...how do you do that, because I've selected each item on the left when I Select All Bookmarks and went to the Views and set those for sorting...but the first drop down still is not sorted. Why Not? I took a screen shot but it fails to load...the screen shot was saved in a Word Doc...what's wrong? can someone send me an email??? Thanks

thanks but that's more confusing...what I want shouldn't be that involved... so why can't I send a screenshot as a word doc?
