I lost all of my bookmarks and can not get them back. I went thru the help forums and they did not supply a solution. I went thru the profile manager and I only have one profile now. How do I get back my old bookmarks cuz I need them

Are you sure that your bookmarks are actually gone?

Have you viewed your bookmarks in the Bookmarks Sidebar, in the Library, or in the Menu Bar > Bookmarks drop-down. Firefox 57 has a different Bookmarks button sitting on the toolbar by default, which doesn't display all the user's bookmarks as in earlier versions.

Or try this to retrieve the older style / action button:

  • Click on the 57 library icon library icon and go to bookmarks > bookmarking tools > add bookmarks menu to the toolbar.
  • Then you click the Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) icon that's newly appearing on the toolbar, you'll get to the same bookmarks menu like in earlier versions...
  • Can you see your bookmarks now?

    None of that helped.

Do you see the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)?

    • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

    • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
