Thunderbird fails to complete update after Creators update.

After Windows 10 Creators update Thunderbird update advises that a reboot is required to complete the update. No matter how many times the computer is rebooted the message remains the same. Clearly something has been altered by the Creators update that prevents the Thunderbird update from completing it's update. What should I do now?

1. delete the thunderbird PROGRAM folder at %programfiles(x86)% 2. reinstall from http://getthunderbird.com/
