When I try to login to my nytimes.com account the login box will not enter the underscore sign (my email address is jess_cook@msn.com). and the login fails. This does not happen in firefox with other websites. It does not happen in other browsers (I can login to my nytimes.com account with no problem in Explorer or Chrome). It didn't use to happen in firefox. The problem started within the past week. How can I fix this? Is it related to recent updates? Help!

I don't see visible underscores in that login form, but they appear to be entered (that form isn't high enough to show them for me).

You can verify that in the Scratchpad and use Execute > Display after pasting the below posted code.

  • Firefox/Tools > Web Developer > Scratchpad (Shift+F4)
document.getElementById("userid").value;
