Firefox won't allow me to open new tabs anymore. When I click on the "open new tab" icon, nothing happens. How can I restore this feature to normal operation?

Chosen Solution

Uninstall the Ask toolbar add-on. It has a known compatibility issue with Firefox. See this article on the uninstallation steps: Disable or remove Add-ons.
