Quick find is case sensitive. I don't think this used to be so. How can I "quick find" case insensitive?

Making "Quick Find" case sensitive makes quick find not quite so quick. How can I make it case insensitive? I think it used to be case insensitive, if it is a "feature" can we have the old, quicker, "Quick Find" back?
