First, thank you for your work with Thunderbird. I am on Thunderbird portable esr update channel. I connect to work email outlook. How do I manage a transition given that Microsoft will stop ews on October 1? Is there a new version of Thurderbird that will be released through the esr update channel to allow connectivity to Outlook? With thanks.

You might want to try the release version and see if it's exchange support meets your needs. It is a fairly fast evolving tech in Thunderbird so ESR might not be the best channel for using it at the moment. But as I don't you exchange I will be staying with ESR. The bleeding edge is no longer for me generally.

See this news report for graph support https://www.theregister.com/software/2026/08/20/thunderbird-to-flap-twice-as-fast-from-september/5290393

And this Wiki for the nitty gritty https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Exchange

Or even this support document which lists current limitations (many), https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-exchange
