Accidentally deleted mail profile... cannot restore old emails (but they still exist on disk)

more options

I've read the other posts but the answers did not solve my issue.

I accidentally deleted an email profile (pop3) which had years of emails.

IT SEEMS these emails are all still on my Windows PC in the following folder (based on same subfolder names of .sbd files and very large size of associated files):

C:\Users\landf\AppData\Roaming\PelagiaThunderbirdBACKUP\aemnj0nh.default-release-20241028-1143\Mail\Local Folders

(see example screenshot)

My email server no longer supports POP3 so I have to use IMAP for new emails. BUT, I need access to all my old emails (they are no longer on the server).

I've tried copying folders to Local Folders, but no luck.

Any help?

Thank you.

More details are needed. How did you do the copies? I will offer one technique that may help

  1. install the importexporttools addon if not already done
  2. highight Local Folders folder
  3. rightclick and select the importexport option to import mbox and then locate and select one of the message folders (but NOT any msf file) and the messages should appear.

Thanks SO much! (I missed the highlight folder and right click for import/exportNG.)

90% recovered. Emails in folders which were not in subfolders (e.g., Inbox) still missing.
