Hi, I used Firefox browser at work since it had the best add-in for tab groups (Simple Tab Groups). Unfortunately browser is not supported any more. Is there a portable version that can be run without installing, from Mozilla.

I read a post that indicated it was available from PortableApps, but am not conversant enough to know that it's 100% safe. Believe that it was able to be updated as well.

OK thanks for responding, what do you mean by good reputation since, were there issues before some point in time.

I mean ever since it first existed as I do not recall of any concerns about portableapps Firefox over the two decades since both here and on forums.mozillazine.org

The Portable apps Firefox has existed for a very long time, since Firefox 0.8 if memory serves. They have been allowed to use the official builds with Firefox name and logo in a custom launcher that keeps things self-contained so it can run off a usb flash driver so example. It gets Firefox updates also.

OK thanks, does it contain ads or malware, not sure if this is the right term.

No as they have had a good reputation since.

The advantage of portable Firefox is it runs completely self contained as you can run it off a usb flash drive. If you install regular Firefox setup onto the flash drive it would create your Profile on the Windows system you were running Firefox on when you start Firefox instead of having Profile on the flash drive.

The Profile is where your settings are. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
