How do you display the tab bar?
The tab bar only appears when the "Customize" screen is open, and only on that screen per se (never on any other page). So it is impossible to know how many tabs, or which ones, are open at one time except by actually scrolling through them with the Ctrl-Tab shortcut.

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.
Note: about:customizing is no longer present
in Firefox 47+ releases.
- Press Alt or F10 to bring up the toolbar.
Then View > Toolbars > Customize. - Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and select Customize.
Look for Show / Hide Toolbars at the bottom left.
There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.
Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, none of them rendered a tab bar display. Maybe this is because the Firefox program used here is version 60.0.1. Does everything after version 47 lack not only the recognition of "about:customizing", but also any capacity to display the tab bar?

Over the years, Mozilla has removed things from Firefox. We don't understand the why so much.
I called for more help.
