Firefox crashes

Firefox crashes on startup, was working fine yesterday. Tried starting in safe mode, still crashes. Tried rebooting, uninstall & clean install - no joy.

Went to a 2nd PC I have & it started just fine. Tried to copy the profile from the 1st PC to the 2nd and then it crashed as well. Removed the profile & went back to the original one on this PC, still crashes. Uninstalled on the 2nd PC, deleted everything I could find, reinstalled & it still crashes.

Have run Mal-ware & Norton scans, all come back clean.

Also, is there any tool available that will let me extract my bookmarks to HTML so I can switch on a temp basis to another browser ? I need to get functional while waiting to fix Firefox.

Thanks !

hi Mike, thanks for providing a crash report id. we have seen quite a number of similar reports about this issue in the last hours and this issue is likely caused by your symantec security software that is hooking into firefox (probably through a program/signature update done by them). other users reported that updating firefox in this situation helped with the crashes. you can download & install the latest firefox from https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-48.0.2-sha1&os=win&lang=en-US
