Changing Server Location for the "Sent" Box (Editing the Location)

I'm using the same Mail-Adresses via Thunderbird - and on my MobilePhone - on serveral devices.

This all works fine...

But Thunderbird on the Pi has created two "SENT" Folders - one is named "Sent Items" - the other just "sent".

Now - only the one folder named "Sent items" connects with the IMAP - the one named "Sent" only remains local - Mails sent from the PI DO NOT show up in the "Sent" folders on the other devices - all mails sent from other devices show up in the Folder "Sent Items". But the Mails sent from the Pi actually reach recipients and receive answers.

The Location for the folders is listed under properties as:

imap://[username]@imaps.[provider]/Sent (on the PI) - folder "Sent" imap://[username]@imaps.[provider]/Sent%20Items (on the PI) - folder "Sent Items" and imap://[username]@imaps.[provider]/Sent Items (under Windows)

To solve the Problem, I tried to EDIT the line Location under properties, but this can't be edited (doesn't allow entries - or delete with cursor - nor pastes from Copy / Paste.)

So how can I synchronize the SENT folder(s) from the Pi with the Server...?

In particular is the "attach the signature from a file check box and the file path in that field. changing the file....works as long as program is open. same with the check mark on or off....but as soon as you close the program and open it again the check mark is back on and the same old file name and path are there.....even if I delete the file completely from the computer...

Hello everyone I'm running TB 128 on Linux Mint 21 and TB 140.3 on Windows 11 24H2. My email provider is Strato.de with IMAP. The problem is that TB doesn't allow unsubscribes from folders on either installation. So, if you select a server folder, the folder is displayed and the emails are included. I can unsubscribe from the subscription, and the folders are not gone. All folders and Mails are on TB.

With TB, all folders are loaded and all emails synchronized during installation and the first contact with the server. I can deselect folders in the "Subscribe" menu, but they are immediately available again. I can see in the TB status display that the unsubscriptions are being sent. Strato reports that their server is OK. It also works with Outlook 2013 in Windows 11 and two other email programs in Linux. It works well with other clients (Evolution, Balsa) under Linux. I can uncheck the folders from Server (Dialog in TB) and they're gone.

Today I also tested: 1. Live version Mint 22 TB 128 - same problem 2. Mint 21 TB version 115 - same problem 3. New mailbox/address created on Strato's server - same problem Can anyone explain this? Thanks. Holger

Using a Windows 11 PC desktop. Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when trying to send messages ended up crashing Thunderbird if I used the enter key.

I want to seek opinion on how to manage the virus detected in emails (or its attachments) through Kaspersky Anti Virus.

I have large no of emails in TB stored in mbox format. Around 30GB in Inbox and another 5GB in Sent, etc. I also use Kaspersky Internet Security which has anti-virus also active.

Now my anti virus detects some infected emails. How to clean the infected virus emails / attachments.

Question: 1) When using mbox file on TB, is Kaspersky capable to delete ONLY a single specific infected file from the entire mbox data without any corruption of mail data? 2) If not, how to setup the anti-virus to automatically clean, disinfect and delete/quanrantine individual mail. ?

3) Is MailDir a better way to save emails in profile and use anti-virus. There is a warning on Maildir saying its still not settled and may have bugs. Is that true even today ?

We have several computers on a local network without internet access. There is a problem in Thunderbird 143 - files are downloading slowly. POP3 and IMAP are the same. From several tens of seconds to one and a half minutes, 11 files from the letter were downloaded, totaling 20 MB. There is such a feature - if you disconnect the network adapter, the problem practically disappears. There was no such problem in the Thunderbird 115 version. The Em client and Mailbird clients were also installed for the experiment - they also do not have such a problem.

The mailbox is small and contains 20-30 almost empty emails.

Tell me, please, what can be done about it?

Can someone explain why the emails I write are still spell-checked, even though I have unchecked "Check spelling before sending message" and "Check spelling continuously" in "Settings" countless times? Even the Thunderbird add-on "Replywithheader" still checks spelling, even though I have unchecked "spell-check" there too. I don't want spell-checking, but I can't get away from it! It really bothers me.

I cannot delete this appointment reminder that was sent to me from Joe Cooper Ford when making a service appointment. Keeps popping up, over and over. I cannot edit, delete, change, there is no "read only" option as recommended below. This appointment does not show on the calendar either so I cannot right click as also recommended below. This is very annoying.

Server Replied with 400 If you're seeing this message after snoozing or dismissing a reminder and this is for a calendar you do not want to add or edit events for, you can mark this calendar as read-only to avoid such experience in future. To do so, get to the calendar properties by right-clicking on this calendar in the list in the calendar or task view.

When trying to add my outlook.com email account to Thunderbird 143.0.1, using the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-exchange, I get an "Exchange auth error." I'm able to add the account manually using imap, but I want to use Exchange so I can access my outlook.com calendar and contact when TB is updated to include them.

This is the second time I've posted about this. I've tried everything and the problem is getting worse. Thunderbird is deleting messages from my inbox when I retrieve messages from the server. All my settings indicate this should not be happening, but it is. I use the IMAP interface and the latest version of Thunderbird.

This morning after I downloaded messages Thunderbird showed no messages in any of my folders, not even archived! What the heck is going on and how can I solve this? I will have to stop using Thunderbird unless I get this resolved -- and fast.

Hi I was using TB 142 without problems. When upgrading to 143 ou 144.B4 I have problems sending mails to all users after some times. Usually the first mails are sent immediatly but after around 10 mails, I have very slow response (varies from 5 sec to more than 1 minute and sometimes timeout). Usually quitting TB solves the problem but this is very annoying. I went back to 140LTS and sems to have no longer this problem. This was tested on many diffrent networks. I am running under Fedora release 42

Have updated from 140.3.1 esr 32 bit to 143.0.1 release 64 bit TB and to windows 11 - uninstalled 32 bit and installed 64 bit and updated to windows 11 Following updates found that device sign in id (pin) was used to be in 32 bit missing from settings to access password but can show passwords. In reviewing the profile after update I note that Mozilla location service key, google location service key and safe browsing keys are missing (not sure what they were pre update). The key4.db file pre update was 1/3/22 but after update it is 10/10/25. The logins.json pre and post update is 7/9/25. I can see the default release profile and local only - use only the default release. My question is - has the 64 bit installation cleared all my keys/how can I check all my keys and how do I fix and ensure connections are secure?
