I'm on TB 128.1.1esr on Windows 10. I recently ported my profile from Debian and everything seems to be working fine except I can't change the route or path to the sound file I was using on linux for new emails, which reads:

file:///home/myusername/Documents/r2d2/r2d2.wav

I want to use that same wav file, but when I click on the "browse" button to set the new route in Windows 10, nothing happens. Other than that, sound is working fine on windows and the rest of the Thunderbird functions seem to be working fine too. Any ideas appreciated, have a good one!

Email with attachment arrives every day. Thunderbird with FiltaQuilla, Attachment Extractor and message filter used to save attachment to file. Works on my laptop and on a raspberry here. Does not work at client site on raspberry with same OS an programs as on the one here.

On my laptop and on the raspberry here i get similar journal printout without WARNING: Failed to connect to proxy and attachment is not saved.

Can I force it to re-download the emails not shown correctly?

event invites automatically added to calendar, no accept or decline buttons

When I receive an email with an invite (with attached *.ics file) it goes automatically to the calendar (and perhaps is automatically accepted? No way to know). There are not "Accept" or "Decline" buttons.

How do I prevent this behavior? I prefer to first read the invitation email and then decide what to do and whether to add it to a calendar (and accept or decline it)

In Thunderbird, which I have used for years, there were some 95 messages in a folder. For some unknown reason (did my mouse finger slip perhaps?) they disappeared. I can see them by using "Search", but would very much like to restore them to their folder -or any folder. Can someone advise?

I have (I hope) attached a screenshot of what ""search" produces - any idea as to how I can get these messages back into a folder? I've tried making a new one, but that didn't work.

This issue has been intermittent. One time I can get my mail and the next I can't. Also when checking for a Thunderbird update it fails with this message... "Failed to check for updates." This just started happening within the last 2 weeks. When checking mail I get a... "Connection to server pop 3 timed out" message. Can anyone help with this? Thank you very much!

Hello. So I had a work Gmail account on Thunderbird which I no longer use. I have deleted the account from Thunderbird, removed all related contacts in the Address Book as well as all Calendar events related to it, as well as all outbound server settings, etc. But Thunderbird still tries to sync to the account every 15 minutes. Would anyone know what else I need to do to stop this syncing? Thanks for any suggestions. Celine

Hello. I'm developing simple shedule app. Already I finished project but I have a problem with Thunderbird. In my app user's can send invitation's to another user's and important thing is sender must have this message in the Send folder. I have done it but to see this message user must repair index of Sent folder. Is there any possibility to reload this index from code or script? I tried deleting Sent.msf file but during Thunderbird working it's blocked and I can't get access to it until I close Thunderbird.

After I reload index manually everything is right and messages are visible.

I had to wipe out my computer and re-install Thunderbird. Unfortunately, I did not back up the latest Thunderbird profile, but had to use an earlier profile I had backed up. Now I can receive all emails, but cannot send any emails. (I am able to send email through Spectrum webmail.) In Spectrum, I have a main account, and 3 subaccounts. In the Outgoing Server SMPT settings in Thunderbird, where it asks User Name, which email account do I use, the main one or one of the subaccounts? I seems the SMPT setting is for both the main and the three subaccounts, not for each separately. Also, is there something else I need to do as I didn’t back up the latest Thunderbird profile? Thanks!

Hello, Over the last week or so I have not been able to send emails with Thunderbird but I can receive them with Thunderbird. I have contacted my internet provider, Telstra and they advise me it is not a problem with them as I can send emails via their Wed Mail. I have been getting a message saying to check my SMTP settings when I try to send emails via Thunderbird but I am not sure what to expect. My anti virus is with AVG. Hope you can help. John

Can TB hide its client ID when it connects?

I have been using TB to access my Exchange accounts at work through IMAP and OAuth2. Last week this stopped working and the server reports this:

'AADSTS7000112: Application '9e5f94bc-e8a4-4e73-b8be-63364c29d753'(Thunderbird) is disabled.'

IT say they won't re-enable access for individual users. I know TB's native support for Exchange is coming and that may solve the problem but in the meanwhile I notice my K-9 Mail on Android still works fine even though it is set up as TB. The only difference is that K9 is set up to hide the identity of the mail client in outgoing mail headers.

This and that the error message above specifically mention Thunderbird make me think: Could I perhaps bypass the block if the server didn't know I was using TB?

Is there a way to get TB to spoof or withhold its identity? This is clearly not about not reporting the mailer in the headers as it seems the server can tell the agent on connection (ID '9e5f94bc-e8a4-4e73-b8be-63364c29d753' as mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202 ).
