Hi there! I made a screen-shot just in case I don't explain this well :) In my inboxes this works well on both my emails - the "groups" 'today, yesterday, last 7, last 14 & older' are all expanded all the time. (see image)
This is however not the case in other folders like sent, junk, deleted etc. I need to manually click the name "today/yesterday etc." to expand it. Next time I go to that folder again, they are all 'un-expanded/closed/collapsed' again.
I would like them to be expanded as default all-the-time in every folder I have! Is there a setting for this somewhere that I can set to 'true' or just check a box?

That way i know exactly who "lost" my mail address to a spammer.
However when i want to reply, the sending mail address defaults to the one i am logged into.
Is there any possibility to configure Thunderbird, that the sending mail for the reply is equal to the receiving one i am replying to?

I added some events from Outlook for Android on my phone sync'd to the same account. But they don't seem to appear, although they are on Outlook Web Access on the browser on my Windows machine.

Within last 2 to 3 weeks I noticed that when I click Get Messages the momentary line of text at bottom-left typically says "there are no new messages", or the "number of messages" about to be downloaded. (This is not the notification window at lower right.) Recently the number of messages actually received is not always correct. For instance, this morning the message was clearly "downloading messages 3 of 3", but only one appeared as a new, unread message in my inbox. This has occurred several times, sometimes qty is correct, sometimes not. My first question is whether this is a bug in Thunderbird, or something I need to pursue with my email provider? Second question: I am only requesting those for my account, but might the "missing messages" be downloaded for my wife's email?
If missing messages are for my wife how do I fix it so I only download mine? She doesn't have admin rights and I made no changes to our account settings. If missing messages are not hers then I am seriously concerned about this issue.

Hello, I have Webmail by Godday. I have been using Thunderbird for many years to connect to my accounts without issue. Past couple days I get an error message saying it can't connect to the server. Godaddy says they haven't changed anything. I can log in on Webmail but not with Thunderbird. Thunderbird brings up my mail from before it couldn't log in so I have all my stuff I have saved but I can't get new mail or send mail. I deleted Cache, restarted and all that... Quite often I find that Thunderbird is very slow to obtain a connection with my Outlook account. I can run my Outlook directly and everything is updated in about 20 seconds and at the same time it may take a couple of minutes up to a few minutes for Thunderbird to complete downloading. Additionally, many times during this lag in connecting, I receive a message that the password is incorrect, which is bogus; all I have to do is select "Retry" and the download process continues. I am using the latest version of Thunderbird "115.10.2 (64-bit)." This problem has been occurring on previous versions as well.

Carbonite did a restore of the default file (that was dated 4/8) by couldn't get these back. Need to get everything that was in the inbox and draft file on 4/26 (or sometime prior) What can I do?

[SHIFT]+[DEL] works to permanently delete single messages, but when multiple emails are selected the emails just go to the trash as if I hadn't used [SHIFT]+[DEL].
I have not disabled the warning pop up which asks you to confirm that you really want to permanently delete the emails. I get this warning when there is only one message selected but not when multiple messages are selected.
When I look at the trash I see that the selected emails are there instead of being immediately deleted.
I am having this problem in Troubleshoot mode as well. This is in Linux on a Chromebook.

I am a very long-time Thunderbird user. I store my e-mails in many folders, and in all folders I have the unread highlighted. In my primary, very large inbox, the total number and the number of unread messages are normally displayed, and in the message list, the unread are highlighted. I was using a filter for something else totally unrelated, and suddenly I began seeing only total e-mail number, and the unread are no longer highlighted. The unread are still highlighted in my other folders. Is there some way to get the unread messages in my primary inbox marked again? Otherwise I often don't know which to read. I'm talking about thousands of messages, not just a few! Thank you.

Other times I cannot delete. If I come back later, I can usually delete again. How can this be fixed? Thank you.
