It seems that, randomly, the toolbar on Firefox keeps freezing. I can't reload a page, or even use the search function at all. It's only through opening a new window that the problem stops.

Is anybody else experiencing this problem, and is there any possible fixes?

Hi

We are looking to block the ability for a user to store or access saved credentials in the built-in password manager within firefox on mac and we used the following plist to push out a policy via JAMF

While we were able to get the password autofill/prompt disabled, we can still access the manager to view or add credentials manually.

Looking to see if there are some other parameters that can be used to accomplish this ?

<plist version="1.0">

 <dict>
   <key>DisableMasterPasswordCreation</key>
   <true/>
   <key>PrimaryPassword</key>
   <false/>
   <key>OfferToSaveLogins</key>
   <false/>
   <key>OfferToSaveLoginsDefault</key>
   <false/>
   <key>PasswordManagerEnabled</key>
   <false/>
 </dict>

</plist>

I get asked to update Mozilla every time I get on my computer. It asks if I want to allow it to make changes to my device.
I never had to do that before. Why is that happening now? Is this Update request legit? how do I disable it or customize so that Mozilla asks me for an update only when there actually has one?

I have dismissed this request for the last week or so. Today, my browser would not work till I hit the Update button. What is going on? Is this from you Mozilla or have I been hacked? (I have McAffee security) I also updated my system to Windows 11 a few months ago. bold text.

Any Ideas what is going on? About July 21st, 2025 I started noticing with a couple of browser tabs open, a new tab opens autonomously and flitters in the new tab name area, what "looks like a TagID", then closes by itself. I define "looks like a TagID" as something that looks like a tag at end of article link in popular newsletters I see, and appears in the url bar of the linked article.

The occurrence of the new tab happens when I open the browser, within 1 minute and occurs randomly during the session, perhaps every 20 minutes.

My first suspect/assumption is I am always signed into Mozilla when I open Firefox 141.0 (64 bit), processing an update now, Aug 5 2025. I have subscriptions to VPN and Monitor and I have sync (passwords and bookmarks) with my mobile instance of Android Samsung Galaxy phone.

My Desktop is set up as Windows 11 pro with one employer InTune acount for Microsoft but I limit that work to Edge browser.

Some recent update has changed the way extensions function in Firefox. I used to be able to pin my extensions on the toolbar between the account icon and the extension icon on the toolbar. This is REQUIRED for certain extensions to function properly. One example is uBlock; when visiting a site it actively updates the icon letting you know its working and blocking unwanted items. Same with Facebook Container. Password managers such as 1Password also have stopped working for me unless they are pinned to the toolbar. You use to be able to click the extension icon and then see the list of extensions in a window. Now when you click the extension icon it opens to the Recommendations tab of Add-on Manager. You then navigate to extensions and see you enabled extensions but there is no option to pin, only manage/remove/report. I was able to fix this behavior once by completely uninstalling Firefox and then removing the left over folders on the C: drive. Once I reinstalled and went through the initial process of adding the extension, it also asked me if I wanted to pin to the toolbar. To which I said yes and got things working again. After clearing my browser history and cookies, then turning that feature off, it also blew away my pinned extensions. Even after removing the extension and re-adding, I do not get the prompt to pin like I mentioned above. So its seems I may have to go back and uninstall/delete folders/reinstall to get this working again. I see several similar posts so this appears to be either a bug or a very poor design choice on the part of Mozilla.

How do I fix this? I'm not able to use any of my extensions now and really don't want to have to randomly uninstall/reinstall every time this issue happens.

We have an enterprise web application that utilizes Primefaces for frontend UI. With a newest version of Firefox ESR 140.2.0 we noticed that input field values history is not saved. So the values are not proposed to the user wen he enters form data again. Problem is not available in Firefox ESR 128.14.0. Old input field values saved in 'formhistory.sqlite' before Firefox was upgraded to 140.2.0 are still available for the user.

Hi,

I clicked refresh firefox before I uninstalled the old version, then this "Old Firefox Data" folder was generated on my desktop. After installing the new version, I think I don't need this backup folder, but I was not able to delete this old data folder. It's telling me I don't have the authority, but I am the administrator. Can anyone here tell me how to delete this folder please ?

Thanks!
