Firefox adressbar works now . That is after a complete reinstall and also a Windows system restore. I had search with different boot search programs but nothing - becouse the fault came after reinstalls reboot wWindows. So I though it was a boot malware or trojan. When I again did a reinstall sudenly the fault came before reboot Windows. So I look at restore points and saw I 10 days earlier did a system restore bu the same day anger that. I think something got wrong there. I restore to 11 days earlier instaed and the old Firefox 15.0 appeared. From that point I could upgrade once again to 15.0.1 and Firefox adress bar worked. Then Windows upgrades could start. Thanks for suggestions !

Could you try overriding the default font. If you install the Stylish extension, you could experiment interactively.

(1) Install the Stylish extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/

(2) After restarting Firefox, click the Stylish "S" icon on the Add-on bar > Write new style > Blank Style

(If you do not usually display the Add-on bar, press Ctrl+/ to display it. If the "S" icon is not there, drag it from the Customize dialog, which you can show using Alt+v > Toolbars > Customize)

(3) In the rule editor that appears, paste this:

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
#urlbar .urlbar-input-box {
  font-family:Verdana !important; /*Override System Font*/
  background-color:#ffa !important; /*Highlight control*/
  /* width:100% !important; */ /*Un-comment if needed*/
}

(4) Click Preview. Any change? If it helps, you can give it a name, and click Save.

The same occurs here.

At first tried the classic full reinstall of FF: Unistall, delete users folders and resgistry entries. But the fail rose again ater a system reboot.

Looking at you HiJackThis log, i could see a common software we are running: the BioMonitos (C:\Program Files\AuthenTec TrueSuite\BioMonitor.exe), which, i think, is part of HP Simplepass.

After a day trying solve the problem, i got this forum! I'll try onother reinstall and remove simplepass. Results i bring later....

Edit: This issue is NOT SOLVED ! But now the thread is locked ... ?

The problem is still there with FF 16.0

Edit: but there might be a solution . Look below at "The same occurs here". Check this tip - and the first indication is that the fingerprint software defects Firefox. I will check it out !

Yeah, the finger print software was the problem . I do not have a HP but a Fujitsu and don´t use Fujitsu´s partners´s software because it is to slow when windows start up.

I installed Authentec Truesuit and I think they do som implementation in Firefox. Now the fault is gone and I have reinstalled Truesuit and driver. I don´t know if something got wrong at installation or if it is a bug in Truesuite I not 100% sure that the fault i solved so we wait .

Authentec´s software True suite is possible to use when login to any web pages . There is a FF addon also but I have uninstalled that.

NOW this is 100 % SOLVED !

Firefox address bar work´s and AuthenTec´s software True suite works. It works also with Windows Biometric login. And when I login at any site in Firefox, the drop down message ask if I want to store in True suite - even at a https-site .

Maybe it is more safe than store passwords in Firefox password file ?

I can use my finger at any site, so I have to be careful with my Goldfinger ;-)

Edit: AuthenTec mailed and says that the new latest version of True suite now works with Firefox 13-16

I can't believe it was so easy!

I just unistalled Authentec and the issue's gone!

Windows logon capabilities by the finger was not lose! However i installed a new version of Simplepass available for newer HP laptops, despite it's firefox add-on is not working...

Everything is fine, let's see for how long...

Ok , but Authentec Tue suite works great even in Firefox 13-.. without add-on. As well as at windows logon of course - by Windows own Biometric software which works without delay. Use that instead .

It works even at https-sites .
