New home page only holds till I restart Firefox. Then the old one comes up again.
I can set a new home page any time I want, and use it right up until I close Firefox. The next time I bring Firefox up I have the old home page back again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, and still have the same problem. Where is the old one stored that is so hard to kill it? This has been happening through three updates of the software,

Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
-> Basic Troubleshooting - Make a New Profile
IF that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.
-> Recovering important data from an old profile
Check and tell if its working.

-> Restore the default home page
-> Now Set a single web site as your home page
Check and tell if its working.
Tried it, Same thing happened. Worked fine until I closed down Firefox. When I restarted it I had the old home page back again. I think this computer is just trying to make me have a nervous breakdown.
What is the URL of the "old" homepage?
What website address are you using for your homepage ??
Restore the default homepage as mentioned in my previous rely (1st link) and keep it permanent. Don't set your homepage. Browse some websites, then close and restart Firefox.
IF the problem comes back again, use this:
Check and tell if its working.

Tried that last night and all today. Over and over. Sorry, thought it might work, but still comes up with the old home page on restart. Won't even hold the default through a restart. Like your way of thinking though.

Seems to have worked!! I think I even found the corrupted line of code where the problem started. Did not transfer it over. Thanks very much. You are now qualified to walk on water........suggest you wait till it is frozen about 8 inches thick first. I really appreciate your help.
