Just a heads up in case it's happening to you, but recent updates have been mucking about with the settings e.g. where filters send mail, and other related issues. So if something is going wrong, first check to see if some option has been altered without you knowing.

I am not aware of that, and I have spent years on this forum. The only automated change to settings was the authentication method used for gmail to prevent loss of access.
